Description

This category spans organizations providing direct survivor support, developing detection and prevention tools, conducting research, and advocating for policy change.

They are independent of both the government and the business sectors, and fill gaps that the two have difficulty effectively addressing.

Many operate with limited resources despite handling significant caseloads - for example, Jacarandas in Colombia reported receiving over 2,000 requests for support from IIA survivors, double the volume handled by state resources, while operating with constrained staff and funding (IIA Tools Landscape Analysis, 2025).

Some organizations achieve impressive impact rates - the Revenge Porn Helpline maintains over a 90% removal rate and has removed over 200,000 individual non-consensual intimate images from the internet (Prevention by Design, 2025).
